I recently purchased a Canon lens that I had researched extensively. The price on 42nd Street Photo's site was cheaper than all the others I could find and offered free shipping. I strayed from my usual company that I do business for this deal. I found the website easy to use and was able to pay securely with Paypal so I took a chance. However, the next day I received a phone call from someone at the store who called to 'confirm' my address then proceeded to try and upsell me on another lens and some equipment. He was rather pushy and I was not impressed. Shipping was fast and free (via UPS) so I cannot complain about that. However, after I received the lens one thing was glaringly lacking from the box. The warranty card. The item listing said 'US Warranty' but there was none to be found. I'm skeptical of the 'new' description of the lens as well. Overall, the prices were good and the shipping was fast but I'm reluctant to use this company again. Pushy sales people and the item is, well, not exactly as described. I'd say use Adorama instead. I'll be taking my business back to them. more

I just purchased a nikon coolpix s8100. 42nd was the cheapest i could find and with free shipping. The camera arrived very fast and brand new as described. 42nd St does call and verify your order b4 shipping out though. In my case i usually frown upon that cause they usually do this to try to sell you other stuff. However, the gentlemen made me aware of the short battery life that came with the camera b/c of the 1080p video and offered me a great deal on an upgrade battery. In this case it worked out great for me since i'd nevered considered that. Great company and would definetly purchase and recommend them agan. more

Excellent Deals on SLR Cameras 1/19/2011

I purchased a Canon Rebel EOS t2i from 42nd Street Photo recently and am extremely satisfied with the price, product and the service. Firstly, the price was the lowest on the entire web. Getting it shipped from NYC wasn't an issue as they've been in the market for 40 years. When they called me to confirm the order, they suggested and added a memory card at abt 50% the price elsewhere which was a nice touch. I also received free cleaning kit and other goodies and i am sure to return back for my future camera needs. Aah yes! As others mentioned the free shipping and tax were a bonus :) more

We just purchased a Canon EOS Rebel XS. I could not find anywhere that would beat their price and the free shipping and tax were a bonus! The shipping was fast and they even called to ask if I wanted to sign for the package! The customer service was outstanding and I would purchase from 42nd Street Photo again in a heartbeat! more

Was checking my options online for a Canon 7D and saw 42nd Street Photo with a price almost $200 less than the nearest competitor...had never purchased from them before and this was not a cheap product.
