I brought my Highlander to Jim Coleman service for what I thought was a minor brake repair, and was quoted $1,200.00. They indicated the need for new rotors, fluid flush, pads, etc. The SUV only has 30K miles. I drove to my local BP in Potomac, and they sprayed brake cleaner for $3.00 to fix the squeel. Told me I had another 15-20K left on the pads, and the rotors were in perfect condition. Stay away from Jim Coleman Toyota! What a bunch of con-artists. more

DONT TRUST !!! 8/12/2011

Wish I could select ZERO stars! ... Purchased a used car (with 3 month, 3k coverage) Selected a 2005 BMW Z4 with 84k miles to test drive and fell in love ... Ben (sales) was excellent, had the answers or got the answers for my many questions and was not pushy at all for the sale. Martin (used car manager) is a waste! - I had to hound him for a part to be replaced that was broken before I pick up the vehicle (details below) He is not honest in his replies, dont trust him. Before picking up my car, the dealer was preparing it for pick-up and broke the passenger vent; I had to point it out to them (they were not up front about it) and had follow the guy through the dealership until I got a written commitment they would fix it. Now a week later, no calls or contact to say the part is in and they will repair/replace it. I finally called them and they said the part is "on order" - poor communication! I called my BMW dealer (Passport BMW) they have the part in stock and it is a 10 minute fix. I don't believe they ever ordered the part. Today had my mechanic (Passport BMW) completed a multi-point inspection and found out the valve cover gasket has a leak, probably something normal with the year/mileage. Called Jim Coleman and informed them of this issue, they say they need to complete the repair YET they are not BMW certified or handle BMW vehicles on their lot often enough for me to trust their mechanics to repair it properly. The same people who broke the vent and were not honest about it. The Service Manager said on the phone 'we can't keep putting money in the car; we are not making much on it'. As a customer it is not my issue if you do not profit on the sale of a vehicle (I will say the price was excellent) BUT I expect professionalism and follow up on customer commitments. Martin (Service Manager) stated there is a leak, but it is not leaking enough to fail a state inspection so it is no covered. They have no obligation to repair it. more

*Car lot salesmen should not make fun of you or make you cry! *I have never been treated so bad ! *Single women stay clear ! *Everything after hello get in writing [they will not call you back in 10 minutes, they will not have the car for the appointed test drive! 3 weeks tried to see a car that I had been searching for 6 months for. Had cash. Set up test drive drove 65 miles waited 2 hrs couldn't see the car. Drove back home thats[130 miles]. Got a call tuesday, cars back. Set up test drive [get a blast of crap that I need to come right away] Sat. I called down just to be sure it ready, told can't see car another blast of crap about Japan and parts. Sun. they drop price internet. Took off work 2 days to get this car. Mon. I get more lies & crap. Wait all day for return calls. Finally got someone to answer the phone. Said [ You wanted the PT Cruiser convertible and I’m fresh out] car sold site unseen. Yeah right. I took all their crap and still didn’t get the car. RUN. Martin hope your buddy likes the car. more

Excellent Service 8/26/2010

I came to Jim Coleman expecting the typical car salesman type atmosphere. What I found out what they are nothing like that! This was probably the easiest car buying experience I have ever had. The saleman was easy to work with, polite, wasn't overly pushy - he was great. Not only do I love my car but I will definitely be returning for my next car buying experience. more

Great Service! 5/11/2010

recently purchased my first new car on my own and have to admit i was terrified going into the dealership. But at Jim Coleman Toyota they made it such a pleasant expierence. We negotiated a reasonable price right where i had budgeted to pay. Everyone was so kind and willing to work with me. It made me feel very confident in my choice. I will always use the Jim Coleman dealerships from now on!? more

A Dealer You Can Do Business With 8/16/2005

We have purchased two cars -- and done two trade ins -- with Jim Coleman Toyota in Bethesda. And I try to make sure that I'm well prepared and set the terms of the dealing to my advantage. This dealership has done what I've asked and done the dealing they way I wanted to. Before I buy, I know exactly what model and trim package I want. I let the salesperson know that I will purchase that car within the next week. I tell them they can bid for the business but they should only quote the final bottomline price -- after all charges, taxes, and even license tags. Then I tell them I will be calling three dealerships -- two in the DC metro area and one 90 miles away. They have one opportunity to quote a price. In both instances, Coleman either matched or beat the best price that I could get through this approach to putting the pressure on them rather than on me as the buyer. I have also used Coleman's service department and, on one occassion, the body shop at the Coleman Cadillac dealership next door. I have been satisfied with all the work they've done. However, I don't use them for routine oil changes and such as their prices seem high and they are not THAT convenient for me. more
