Revitalizing Experience 9/3/2002

My mother-in-law and I went to Zion National Park for 4 days this summer and hiked through the Narrows, up the mountainside, to the waterfalls... Those 4 days of hiking were so revitalizing and uplifting that I'm heading back again very soon. I recoment this park for anyone who needs a well deserved R & R and a revitalizing experience to boot! Pros: Great transportation, Excellent Trails, Beautiful scenery Cons: Non more

10+ 6/27/2002

I have lived in Utah my whole life and have been to Zion's many times. All I can say is after all these years, it is still breathtakingly beautiful. From the red rock to the waterfalls, you just can't seem to find a place that compares in beauty or adventure. This place is awesome! more

God's Country 6/12/2002

The Narrows hike was one of the most breathtaking hikes I've ever had. The colors in the rocks is something that has to be seen to belive. But if you take this hike you better be ready to be in water because only a mile and a half is on dry ground. more

Serenity at its best. 6/4/2002

This is the most relaxing atmosphere for a hike. I would defiantly recommend the waterfall hike. You hike through a canyon that is mostly full of water that ranges from ankle deep to waist deep. Beware of the flash flood warnings they come as fast as they leave. Everyone that you come across on the trail is a nice and conciderate as can be. Seems like this place brings out the best in people young and old alike. Pros: Scenery, Atmosphere more

Stunning 6/2/2002

This is one of the most incredible places on Earth. Short hikes are ideal for families with children of all ages and the views are stunning no matter what time of year you come. It's the perfect place to view some of Utah's native wildlife. Campsites are well-kept and have nice, basic facilities. We stayed at the lodge outside the park a couple of years ago. It was a little expensive, but the rooms were very clean and comfortable and the views from the balconies are lovely--plus easy access to the park. Pros: Great camping Cons: Crowded in summer more

Am I the on;y ""not the best in Utah""? 5/25/2002

I have lived in Utah for three years and I am beyond wowed by the scenery here. Zions is amazing, but compared to other National Parks, it is not the best. Granted, the hikes and scenery is beautiful, but the Park is so popular that is is very crowded. Think about Capitol Reef, Arches, Cayonlands, Bryce...the list can go on forever. Zion's is great, but there are TONS of better hikes in this fantasticlt beautiful State. Pros: Crowded more
