I called first thing on Monday morning with a very significant problem with my vehicle. Lisa was very understanding of my situation and was very helpful in trying to get me in on very short notice. She explained they were booked with appointments until Wednesday, but said to bring the car in and they would work hard to fit me in. When I got there Jon Raye met me and checked the car right away, diagnosed the problem and by noon the car was fixed and ready to pick up. You just can't ask for better service than that! Thank you! more

Elizabeth went above and beyond 7/22/2011

Elizabeth went above and beyond to make sure my experience was a good one. She took care of me personally both times I came in with my car and put me as the number one priority. I didn't even have to talk to anyone else. I appreciate her commitment to making me satisfied. I have had average experiences with Schmelz before, but not this time. It really went well this time around. more

Everyone at Schmelz is always extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I trust them and although I am in the process of moving across town, I will continue to bring my business to them versus the much closer dealership because they are hands down the easiest and nicest to work with. more

High Quality Service Department and Service Staff 7/8/2011

The rate for service work is now $125 per hour. A few months ago it was $110. That is a very high price to pay to fix what are essentially defects that WW built into the car I own so that they could extract a few more dollars per car. The 2002 Jetta TDI has a history or poor quality. The quality has improved, but I am now paying $125 an hour to fix what are often issues of poor quality. It is a shame that the quality of the cars at Schmeltz VW are not at the same level of the extremely high quality of its service department. more

Always Treated Well at Schmelz 7/7/2011

Like anyone would agree, labor charges are a killer. I am now handing over this car to my young son so that he has a reliable car but just the labor charges alone were $450, something he can't even comprehend at his age! ;) The car was in for front brakes and they discovered something with the wheel bearing and they say they combined the labor but I guess I myself can't understand $450 labor charges when you're doing two things in the same place. I enjoy working with all of the sales people, I am always treated very well. more

Exceptional service 6/2/2011

The reason for recommending is that it is family owned. Depending on the service consultant, I have received, over the years, exceptional service and average service. I've been quite happy with the service received. I bought the car at Schmelz as well. It is likely that the next ar I will buy in a few years will be a VW as well. more
