Probably the Last Authentic Deli in Baltimore 3/28/2010

Attman's is an institution. Where old buildings on Lombard Street have been demolished and replaced with condos, Attman's still stands and serves juicy sandwiches, delicious western fries, and an assortment of sodas. You will be entertained by the antics of the counter staff and locals. It is also politically correct there to be called ""sweetie"" or ""hun"" by the cashier. The Kibbitz Room has not changed in at least 30 years, if not more. Pictures of the restaurant and Baltimore History adorn the walls. Yes, it is still family owned and you can park next door for free. Pros: Character of the Staff and Kibbitz Room Cons: Long Lines and a Bit Cramped more

NO SERVICE! 3/15/2010

My wife went in there one day and was not serviced for over 10-12 mins , there is only one customer that came after her and was serviced right away... She complained and was totally ignored. She just left. Pros: Wasn't able to find out. Cons: NO SERVICE! more

This place has ""jumped the shark"" 8/31/2006

I have went to this palce for the last 30 years and always have enjoyed every visit until today.\r \r I visited today and it was with great anticipation. On the drive to Attmans I was think of an extra lean corned beef sandwich on rye with mustard and literally my month was watering. I had not visited Attmans for a few months. When I visit it reminds me of my father and the days we would get a sandwich and laugh at the ""New York"" style clerks behind the counter yelling and shouting friendly directions (next, hurry up, we don't have all day, etc.)\r \r The place has really ran into a wall. One of the cases that would display all different kind of specialities was spray painted black so you could not see thru the glass, I assume because of a mechinical failure. The place was dirty and the clerks seemed to have their minds on something else. The corned beef I had today was fair, but the guy that waited on me sliced it thick and it really was sort of dry. He had gloves on but touched everything possible (even itching his ear while checking me out) and then continues to make food afterwards, I was very diappointed.\r \r I normally do not write reviews. It is with great sadness that I am seeing the start of Attmans becoming a distant memory in Baltimore history. \r \r If the guy that manages this historical institution reads this please believe me when I say I am not trying to be mean. Please restore this place to the greatness that has served Baltimore for so many years. \r \r You have the product, just need to tweek the environment and service delivery. Do it for Seymour!\r \r more

Well Worth It 5/10/2004

After seeing Attman's listed as a candidate for Best Of Baltimore Sandwiches, I had to give them a try. I drove down Lombard Street and easily found the deli. Off street parking for Attman's is directly across the street. I ordered the Hungry Man's Special, grabbed a Root Beer, and drove to Patterson Park to enjoy my lunch in the shade. What a great sandwich! Huge helping of melt in your mouth Corned Beef on some very excellent Jewish Rye. I order Corned Beef Specials at different places and I'm usually disapointed. This is how a Corned Beef Special should taste. I'll be back to try the other sandwiches, but I can't imagine anything being better than the Hungry Man's Special. Pros: Good Location, Enough Parking, Great Sandwich more

Best in Baltimore 2/20/2003

I've lived in Baltimore all my life. I'm 46 years old and can remember going to this restaurant when I was a child. To this day, when I want Corned Beef, Pastrami, Roast Beef, Hot Dogs or their to die for Chicken Salad, I go to Attman's without question. Their Reuben and Jessica's Special is the best anywhere on God's planet. Pros: , Everything Cons: , Absolutely none more
