AMAZING GLASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6/13/2012

After going to two other optical stores in town I decided to go to Tegenkamp Optical. I needed a pair of glasses but I also wanted a pair of sunglasses with my prescription in them and the other two stores told me it wasnt possible. Welll when I went into the store, the layout is beautiful!!! They have so many glasses to choose from and they will help you in every step of picking out your glasses and making sure you are happy with what you decide on. They also informed me that I COULD get sunglasses with my prescription in them. I was so excited, first time in 20 years I would be able to wear sunglasses and actually be able to see. I got 2 pair that day, one pair of regular glasses and one pair of sunglasses and I love them both! I have sent so many of my friends and family members to them and they all have had a really good experience as I did. more

I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THIS COMPANY!!!! 3/20/2012

What a great local company. Here is my story. I lost my job a year and a half ago. I have very limited money and just didn't know what I was going to do. I needed my glasses to see and they just broke. I was told about a local christian business man, Mark Tegenkamp. I was very skeptical and desperite. So I went in the store and ask to speak to him. I waited a few minutes and I introduced myself and told him my story. To my surprise he asked me when was the last time I had my eyes checked. It had been a few years. He then introduced me like I was his best friend to the girls in his office. He insisted on giving me an eye check up. Then he made sure that I had not just any pair of glasses but a really nice pair. Talk about a true christian man. I was so greatful and want people to know that he blessed me and I am so thankful. What a true blessing. The best glasses I have ever had and he insisted on giving them to me. You can tell he is a true christian. Thank you so much for making a difference in my life!!!!!!!! Weird Drama 11/5/2011

I don't know what is up with this place. It is true that the staff acts a little strangely and they don't honor their warranties from time to time. But..the online drama. Dr. Porch (their optometrist) and Mark Tegenkamp (the owner) is in some sort of fake review competition with other stores. Between all of that and the Tegenkamp's apparent legal troubles, you people are better off going with a bigger store with less idiocy going on. more

Aside from acting unprofessional on the phone, not honoring children's glasses warranties, and apparently writing fake reviews, the owner is a (quite literally) a criminal and Dr. Porch writes fake reviews for himself all over the Internet. Do yourself a favor and go to Center for Sight, LensCrafters, Eyeglass World, etc. more

Awful Service 8/30/2011

The service was awful and they do not honor their warranties. After I grew suspicious with the behavior of the owner, Mark Tegenkamp - I checked the Escambia County Clerk of Courts website and he has multiple Felony prosecutions and lawsuits. Oops. I guess you have to do a background check on people before you do business with them! more
