Has Yae Sushi closed? 5/1/2012

The phone number is out of service. I had a reservation in December 2011 that I cancelled, so the place was open then. But in mid-April and again today (May 1), the phone number goes to interrupt. Pros: null Cons: null more

Used to be very good now awful 3/6/2011

This place used to be awesome the wait staff worn komons now its your basic. The food is over price. Always the same specials like for 2 years! the food is overpriced and so are the drinks. I will never go back what a rip off. Gizmos is right down the street and it the best sushi and great drinks and kinds of flavor sake friendly staff and all around awesome little place. Yea sushi reopen for what? more

Off the chain 7/19/2008

My husband and I love sushi and decided to try this place. It's kinda of tucked away in a pretty deserted plaza and the owner told us that they've actually been there for 22 years. After eating there - I can definitely see why! The service was great and the waitress was very friendly and quick. The rolls were VERY reasonably priced. We were able to try a few different rolls because it was so affordable. The ingredients tasted very fresh and delicious! The atmosphere was unpretencious and inviting. A very casual place if you want to just relax and try some good food. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that enjoys sushi. We are so glad we found it. Pros: good service, casual & friendly atmosphere, great prices Cons: nothing! more

Wonderful Experiance, Food and Price! 4/18/2008

Yae Sushi was recommended by a friend of mine. I called ahead to reserve a booth. Once we arrived, we were seated in a cozy booth with Japanese themed drapes. The atmosphere is relaxing, intimate and the service was great. The waitress was very knowledgeable, helpful and went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. The pricing was not bad either. I will be going back in the near future. Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Food, Price more

Yae Sushi: a place for sub-par sushi & sub-par customer service 3/22/2008

In the mood for sushi one night and encouraged by the positive reviews on City Search, a friend and I decided to give Yae Sushi a try. We had seen it before but never tried it, and it looked like a quaint little hole-in-the-wall type place, so we figured it might be an undiscovered gem (as it is often the case for small, overlooked restaurants). Pros: close to home, not crowded (I know why now) Cons: food, service more

Bad experiences here twice. 2/15/2008

Fabulous Sushi & More! 9/7/2007

I have been dining at Yae Sushi for about 8 years. I love the atmosphere and the food! It is a small restaurant but they have the biggest sushi roll menu I have ever seen. I have yet to find a place that can even compare. Favorite items include their dinner salad (because of the fabulous dressing), the Chicken Teriyaki, Unagi (sliced or in a roll - that's BBQ Eel), any of the tempuras, Lobster Sushi roll, Salmon Skin handroll, Fresh Ebi (shrimp), Fried Cheesecake, I could go on and on. Anything on the menu can also be adjusted and they have regular specials - which is when I try the stuff that I'm not so sure about. It might get pricey if you try a lot of different rolls, but mostly the cost is average. Pros: Food & Atmosphere. I have always had good service. Cons: Small restaurant & operating hours more

good sushi but way too many rolls with cream cheese 4/3/2007

Went here to try something new and was not disappointed. The fish is fresh and good but not the best I have had. Talked to the owner a bit and he was very nice. I just could not get over all fo the sushi rolls with cream cheese. I realize what kind of customers they get there but come on. more

Great sushi and sashimi 8/10/2006

There are two kinds of people who go to sushi bars in Orlando: those who love the fish, and those who love nigiri (sushi rolls). While Yae Sushi has good rolls, it's the quality of the fish that puts it above other sushi bars. I've always had excellent sushi and sashimi there. Their wasabi is good too. Their sake selection is run-of-the-mill, though. Try the jellyfish salad! Frequently packed, reservations are a necessity on the weekends, and a good idea the rest of the time. The place is small, the bar is tiny. Get a booth if you want any privacy, but be warned: the authentic looking ones on the left are pretty uncomfortable if you sit too long. You'll either love or hate the ambience. It's certainly distinctive. Pros: Great fish, novel salads, cozy atmosphere Cons: small, busy, sometimes understaffed more

One of Orlando's most original sushi restaurants! 7/13/2006

I have been going to Yae Sushi on a regular basis for around 4 years now, and I am a big fan. The food is outstanding and very unique. Most sushi restaurants serve you giant rolls of rice loaded so big, they're impossible to eat in one mouthful. Yae has what I consider more traditional sized rolls that are perfect! The selection is amazing....and the creations on the menu are like no other. I feel that the price is average. The only rolls that come in 4s are the ones with shrimp....the rest are mostly all 8. What is so impressive is how unique the sushi is. I can go to any other sushi restaurant in Orlando and they are all pretty similar, but none are like Yae. I also feel that Yae has a big following of people like me who are "regulars". I really don't understand those who don't like Yae....maybe those are just sushi yuppies who don't know good sushi if it nailed them on the head. My only wish is that they open for lunch again like they used to be. I am self-employed and LOVE a good sushi lunch in the middle of the day!! Pros: Amazing selection, uniqueness, cozy ambience Cons: Service is normally great unless they are super busy, then it can be a little slow more

What a waste!!!!! 6/1/2006

I truly love sushi and appreciate good rolls. The first thing that turned me off was I was greeted properly. The waitress was not polite or friendly at all. I started to walk out but I figured I'd give the food a try. I wish I had gone with my gut. The food was horrible. I got the space shuttle roll (shrimp tempura) and the JB roll (smoked salmon). I asked for no cream cheese (I got cream cheese). The salmon wasnt smoked and the roll was small. Basically, I wasted my time, my gas and my money. If you are a true sushi fan, avoid this place. Pros: inexpensive Cons: food, wait staff more

I love Yae Sushi 10/4/2005

I've been frequenting this restaurant for the past 11 years and i have a great time whenever i go. Sometimes on a romantic dates with friends or at the sushi bar with my mom. Most night you'll find the owner Tiger behind the sushi bar who always a big hello and smile for whomever comes in the door. If you sit at the sushi bar he'll have you try things for fun. I've seen him do this with other people when i'm not at the sushi bar. Pros: Great cusomer service, Good food, great atmosphere Cons: cost, closed mondays more

Very disappointed 4/3/2005

I read the reviews on this site and was so excited to go, and I was so disappointed when I left. The place has 2 fish tanks in the middle with cords everywhere and the sushi was less than desirable. I have eaten sushi and many places in many states and this was one of the worst. There were alot of rolls, but they had nothing in them, not more than one fish per roll. The rolls were small and I made my own creation and it was $9.50 and the special rolls on the menu were only 4 pieces. Would not recommend. Cons: Pricey more
